Born on November 26, 1935 in Joplin Mo. Passed on September 28, 2007

at his home in Henderson NV. He lived there 54 years.

One time resident- lobbyist, and S-I-S- AFL-CIO Retired from State AFL-CIO

A prominent Labor Leader and political activist, he began his career as a

steelworker at the Titanium plants in Henderson and went on to lead the

State's largest labor organization for 21 years as chief of the AFL-CIO and

as executive board member of the National Federation. A long time Champion

of working men and women, he was an iconic presence lobbying on their

behalf.

Survivors: wife Carolyn, Son Steven, daughters Sheree Cassingham, Seanna

German, and Lisa Evans. Sister Joy Barnes, and 4 grandchildren

Preceded in death: Mother Gertrude Evans, Father Homer Evans, and brother
