A local group, Parents for Quality Education, is hosting an education forum this evening in the Nevada Room of the Governor's Mansion, 600 Mountain St.,, from 5-7 p.m.
The event's theme will be "Reading: The Foundation of Education," and will feature speakers including Christopher Wright, regional representative for the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Dept. of Education, who will talk about the importance to No Child Left Behind. Other speakers will be former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle and former national teacher of the year Sharon Kientz.
