Dayton High's Diana Rutt has put together a string of strong matches recently for the Franklin Pierce University women's volleyball team.
On Sunday, Franlin Pierce, an NCAA Division II school, beat Le Moyne College 31-33, 23-30, 30-20, 30-25, 15-8 before falling to the University of Bridgeport 33-31, 27-30, 30-27, 25-30, 14-16.
Against Le Moyne, Rutt, a freshman, posted season bests with 17 kills, 14 digs and two blocks. Agains Bridgeport, Rutt had 13 kills.
On Tuesday, Franklin Pierce lost a Northeast-10 Conference match against Merrimack College 23-30, 30-27, 30-26, 28-30, 12-15. Rutt had 13 digs, 10 kills and one block for Franklin Pierce (13-12, 7-3).
