The Nevada Guard sends additional resources to California.

As of noon today the Nevada National Guard has contributed the following assets to the California wildfire relief mission:

- One UH - 60 Blackhawk Helicopterw/640 gallon water bucket

- One CH - 47 Chinook Helicopter w/2000 gallon water bucket

- One OH - 58 Kiowa Helicopter equipped with thermal imaging cameras

- Five vehicles

- Three Support Trailers

Additionally, about 31 airmen and soldiers were also deployed to the area.

The UH-60 and Nevada guardsmen are positioned in Los Alamitos near Los Angeles, prepared to conduct fire fighting and/or medical missions. While the CH - 47 continue with their fire fighting mission.

The OH 58 and crew are en route to San Diego where they will provide aviation full motion video to incident command post. The video helps the commanders map current fire lines and hotspots, aiding in locating new fire start-ups.

It is not known at this time how long Nevada Guardsmen will be in

Californian, said Sgt. Cheri Cramutolo.
