Police are seeking two men who robbed a Winnie Lane Mexican restaurant at gunpoint Sunday.

Carson City Sheriff's Detective Daniel Gonzales said the owner of Maricosa Las Islitas at 316 East Winnie Lane closed his restaurant about 9 p.m. and went out to warm his car up about 20 minutes later.

As he made his way back into his business, he was met by two subjects.

"One of them placed a gun to his head and demanded that he open the door," said Gonzales. "Cash was taken and they took off."

Gonzales said there was no physical description of the men, nor did the victim see a vehicle, or in what direction they fled.

They made off with an estimated $1,600 in cash.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call the Carson City Detective Division at 887-2020 ext. 1400.
