Paul H. Bowman, 86, a seven-year Carson City resident, died Aug. 31, 2007, in Carson City.

Mr. Bowman was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Harrisonburg, Va.

He had a career in the U.S. Navy. He was a private pilot and a member of various flying clubs.

Besides flying, he also enjoyed tinkering with planes, cars and anything mechanical.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth V. Bowman in December 1999, and granddaughter Amanda Ross.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Steve A. and Cathi Bowman; daughter and son-in-law Suzanne and John Alastra, all from of Newbury Park, Calif.; siblings Alice Bowman and Frances Gaines, both from Harrisonburg, Va.; grandchildren David Bowman, Jillian Bowman, Reina Adams and Susie Adams.

Inurnment will be in Santa Clara Cemetery in California. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
