Carey Leandra Smith

A memorial service for Carey Leandra Smith, 18, an 18-year resident of Carson City, will be 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at Valley Christian Fellowship, 1267 Highway 395 N. in Gardnerville.

Ms. Smith died Sept. 2, 2007, in Green Valley, Ariz. She was born Sept. 28, 1988, to Eric and Tamara Bowen in Upland, Calif. She recently moved to Green Valley. She was a high school graduate. She planned to become a cosmetologist. She was a supervisor at a department store. She was a member of Valley Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed horseback riding, ballet and jazz dance.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Marjorie Smith on June 16, 2001, in Reno, and grandfather Goldwyn Smith on May 9, 2002, in Carson City.

Among her survivors are parents Eric and Tamara Bowen of Carson City; grandmother Eve Bowen of Riverside, Calif.; twin brother Casey Wayne Smith of Carson City; sisters Heather Irene Smith and Holly Robin Smith-Ryan of Carson City; boyfriend Kiel Stalling; two nieces; three nephews; two aunts and two uncles.

Cremation will take place at Desert Sunset Funeral Home in Tucson, Ariz.
