All sorts: A number of young ladies in Carson have banded together and vowed to accept attentions from no young man who uses tobacco. It would be much more sensible for the young ladies to discountenance young men who do not pay their tailors and clothing men for the outfits they wear.

The cornerstone for the new "Lucky" Baldwin Hotel at Tallac was laid and from now on the contractors will rush the work of what is claimed will be the hostelry at any resort in the United States.

Student body of high school elects officers - Nominees are: president, Richard Allen and Charles Priest; vice president, Roy Barnes and Albert Hachquet; boy member of the board of control, Elo Lencioni and Shirley Sparks; girl member of the board of control, Genevieve Bullentini and Jessie June Franks.

The future of the Whistle Off may be in doubt because of poor attendance and success of the recent event. The Tourism Authority had funded the current year's Whistle-Off with $20,000. There may not be funding to continue the event next year.


10 YEARS AGO


The second annual Capital Class Road Rally presented by the Carson City Rotary Club will return to Carson City. "We want people to have fun," said Ken Hollman, Rotary member and organizer.
