Carson resident Jeannette E. Brown, 85, passed away Sept. 13 at her home in Carson, where she'd lived for seven years.

Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 17, 1922, to John Herschel Burgart and Lois Burgart in Ottawa, Ill.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Yucaipa, Calif.

Brown made her career as a nurse at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif.

While living in California, she was active at Trinity Episcopal Church, where she played the organ and sang in the choir. She was also involved with the local PTA. Her great joys were her family, music, crocheting and arts and crafts.

Brown was preceded in death by her husband, David Brown.

Among her survivors are son David J. Brown and his wife, Cheryl, of Modesto Calif. She is also survived by daughter Michele Lanzino and her husband, Daniel, of Carson City; daughter Jeanne Ann Bradbury and her husband, Joseph, of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; daughter Elizabeth Thomas of Reno; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown will be interned next to husband, David, at the Northern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. No services are planned.
