Dyer third in Tiburon mile swim event

Kevin Dyer of the Carson Tigersharks took third in the Tiburon Nautic Mile Swim held over the weekend in the Bay Area.

Dyer took third in the 13-18 male division. All of the Tigersharks who swam in the event competed in the 13-18 male or female divisions. Other results for Tigersharks were:

Tatum Boehnke, ninth; Samantha Ashmore, 22nd; Jacon Cornwell, 17th; Garrett Clayton, 18th.

Mitey Mite Blue improves to 2-0

The Carson Mitey Mite Blue Senators improved to 2-0 Saturday with a convincing 42-12 win over the Reno Ravens at Governor's field.

The Senator offense rolled up 42 points behind the running of Mathias Williams, David Moniz-Lewis and Gage Gunzburg. Quarterback Derek Schafer also tallied a rushing touchdown as well as completing a touchdown pass to Jordan Warren. The Senator offense line had an outstanding day opening holes for the backs. Nick Tibma, Sam Wilson, Bodee Brennan, Alec Fletcher and Noah Tomasco controlled the line of scrimmage.

Defensively the Senators were led by Conner Larkin, Luke Myers, Jesse Knorzer, Kyle Gagnon, Hunter Wheeler, Jarod Butler, Nick Andreas, Anthony Miguel, Spencer Berger, Nick Salm, and Tristen Martel who was in the Raven backfield most of the day. The Senators travel to play Douglas at 8 p.m. Friday at Stodick Park.

CHS wrestling golf tournament is slated

The Carson High wrestling team will hold a fund-raising golf tournament to be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at Eagle Valley's East Course.

The event will be a four-player tournament and will have a shotgun start. Cost is $75 per player if preregistered and $85 the day of the event. The fee includes green fees, cart, barbecue and prizes. There will be prizes for closest to the hole, longest drive and best group score.
