Carson volleyball falls to Damonte Ranch

The Carson High volleyball team couldn't put together a consistent attack in an 18-25, 25-22, 15-25, 20-25 loss at Damonte Ranch on Thursday.

Mavil Diaz had nine digs, Blaike King had four digs, one kill and one ace, Morgan Nuckolls had six kills and one dig, Kailey Taylor had four kills and two blocks, Nikki Keller had 10 kills, one ace, four blocks and a dig and Shannon Earwood added 27 assists for Carson (1-3 in the Sierra League). "We didn't play so well," Carson coach Shana Wilkins said.

DOUGLAS 3, NORTH VALLEYS 0

The Tigers (21-3, 4-0) swept past North Valleys 25-14, 25-12, 25-12. Jourdan Burke had five kills, two blocks, three digs and four points, Taryn Williams had five kills, three digs, one ace and nine points, Christine DuPuis had four kills, six points and three aces, Bridget Maestretti had two kills, two blocks and two points, Jessica Waggoner had two kills, two digs, one ace, four points and four blocks, Melissa Brown had one kill, one ace, two points and three blocks, Jordan Marsh had one kill, Megan Mitchell had one kill, one block and eight assists, Allie Hughes had 14 assists, nine points, two digs and four aces, Mary Lombino had two aces, four points and eight digs, Mysta Townsell had an ace and two digs, Jordan Marsh had two blocks, six points and two aces and Alyssa Todd added one kill and one block.

Douglas won the junior varsity match 2-0 and the freshmen match 2-0.

GALENA 3, SPANISH SPRINGS 0

The Grizzlies (7-6, 2-1 in the High Desert League) swept past the Cougars 25-10, 25-21, 25-23.

Casey Burke had nine kills, Emily Aguiar had seven kills and five blocks, Kim Naut had five kills and two blocks, Brooke Keever had five kills, Megan Fincher had 20 assists, Rebecca Pate had four aces and six digs, Chelsea Mateoni and Bre Crook each had six digs and Brittany Sievert added two blocks for Galena.

Spanish Springs won the freshmen match 25-18, 25-21 and Galena won the junior varsity match 25-23, 25-21.

CHS JVS 2, DAMONTE RANCH 0

Carson (7-1) won the junior varsity match 25-17, 25-22. Alexis Church had one ace, Sara Anderson had three kills, one ace and eight assists, Karli Dodge had five kills, Natalia Pecorilla had one ace, Kendra Krupp had two kills, Morgan Nuckolls had one dig and three assists and Brittney Sly added three kills and two blocks.

CHS FROSH 2, DAMONTE RANCH 1

Carson (7-1) won the freshmen match 22-25, 25-23, 15-8. Elysse Virden had one kill and two blocks, Jazmine Stokes had three kills, one dig and two aces, Elizabeth Bennett-Doran had one kill, seven aces and four assists, Breann Perry had one kill, one dig and two assists, Bailey Young had one kill, Kleine Hernandez added two digs and one ace, Jeanette VanSickle had two kills and Kristi Shaffer added one ace and 12 points.
