An 85-year-old Silver Springs woman was identified this morning as the victim of a fatal head-on collision in Stagecoach on Thursday.
Shirley Belleville was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11 a.m. collision on Highway 50 East, just east of the Stagecoach Market near Stagecoach Drive.
According to authorities, Belleville was eastbound when for unknown reasons she veered into the westbound lane, sideswiped a truck, then struck a tanker truck head-on.
She died on impact.
The two other drivers were not injured.
The accident backed up traffic for about three hours.
