PTA hosting bingo and chili contest

Carson Middle School PTA will host a Bingo and Chili Contest fundraiser 6:30-8 p.m., Friday in the school cafeteria, 1140 W. King Street. Come play bingo, sample chili and vote for your favorite. For information, call 883-1682.

Spring startup seminar at center

David Ruf, owner of Greenhouse Garden Center will present a seminar, "Spring Pond Startup" 10 a.m. Saturday. The seminar is free and reservations are not required. The seminar will be held outdoors. For information, call 882-8600.

Chamber singers spring concert

The Carson Chamber Singers, present their spring concert 7:30 p.m., Saturday at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street. Admission to the concert is $12 for general admission; $10 for seniors, students, and Carson City Symphony Association members; and $1 for age 16 and under. Tickets are available in advance at the Brewery Arts Center office, 449 W. King St. and online at www.breweryarts.org.

Carson City Emblem Club boutique event

Carson City Emblem Club No. 507 sponsors "Second Hand Lil" Boutique, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday at the Elk's Lodge, 515 N. Nevada. An upscale boutique of gently recycled business, career, formal wear, accessories and jewelry. Proceeds benefit D.A.R.E., Nursing Scholarships, Do Drop Inn, and Hearing Impaired children. 4-H club hosting dog fundraiser

Cooperative Extension 4-H Happy Heelers Dog Club hosts 4-H All Breed Conformation and Obedience Fun Match, 8 a.m., Saturday Douglas County Fairgrounds, 920 Dump Road, Gardnerville. Participants can register for $6 per dog for the first class and $4 per dog for each additional class. All proceeds will benefit the Happy Heelers 4-H Dog Club. For information, call, 782-9960.
