Carson Lanes hosting state bowling
The Carson Country Chapter of the United States Bowling Congress is hosting the 2008 Nevada State USBC Open Championships at Carson Lanes.
The event began on Friday and continues for the following four consecutive weekends. The opening ceremonies were held on Friday.
Nevada First Lady Dawn Gibbons was on hand to welcome the bowlers who came from all over the state to compete in the event. She also threw out the first ball to signal the start of the 2008 Championships.
The Tournament is being sponsored by Carson Country USBC, Carson Lanes, Plaza Hotel, Slot World and Nevada State USBC.
