MADERA, Calif. - The S&S Motorsports team of Carson City won the Supermodified Racing Association's opening race at Madera Speedway in Madera, Calif. Saturday evening.

Driver Troy Regier pulled no punches with the main event win, lapping all but two cars of the 16-car field.

Regier also had fast qualifying time of the night.

C&M Motorsports of Reno with driver Ernie Coppo Jr. of Clovis, Calif., finished fifth.

Dale Lamborn of Carson City went out on the start with a possible broken drive shaft; and Whitey Janssen of Dayton pulled from the race mid-way with a vibration in the car.
