Lorry Labate, 70, passed away April 4, 2008 in Carson City. He was born January 2, 1938 in Ely, Nev. to Loreto and Francesca (Carlini Acquafondata) Labate.
Lorry worked for the State of Nevada until his retirement in 1994. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He married Laverne Hembree in 1990 and they enjoyed many years of gardening, golfing, travel and precious time with their family and friends.
Lorry is preceded in death by son Mark Labate.
He is survived by daughter Laurie Van Epps and her husband Lee; son John Labate and his wife Kim; daughter-in-law Laura Labate; stepson Gary Hembree and his wife Charlene; stepdaughter Gayle Rankin and her husband Bill, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandson and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service and reception will be held at St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Carson City 10:30 a.m. Friday.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Heart Association in Lorry's name.
Autumn Funerals and Cremations has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
