Mayor expected to decide on candidacy today

Carson City Mayor Marv Teixeira is expected to announce today whether he will run for another term.

The mayor's intentions have been the subject of much speculation during a term that has seen a great deal of controversy, including a battle with the city manager who later resigned and a conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Several other people have expressed interest in running for mayor, including Supervisor Robin Williamson, School Board President Bob Crowell, Pastor Ken Haskins and former mayor Ray Masayko.
