Windy day ahead; Fairview and Highway 50 roadwork continues

A high wind warning is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

Today's weather will be windy with partly cloudy skies and highs 64-74. Winds will be southwest 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph increasing to 25-40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, windy and mostly cloudy with isolated snow showers after midnight. Lows 27-37 with southwest winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph shifting to the west 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph after midnight.

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:11 a.m. reports all routes open Northern Nevada with no controls.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Edmonds, and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are suggested.
