There is a two-weekend annual fishing derby at Pyramid Lake that will be held on the weekends of Feb. 9-10 & Feb. 16-17.

That big 21st annual derby is sponsored by the Crosby Lodge at Sutcliffe, which is located on the west side of Pyramid lake.

The registration fee is $80 per person.

You can sign up for the derby at the Crosby Lodge in four different ways:

1. Through the U.S. Mail.

2. Faxing your registration information to (775) 476-0401.

3. By going to the Internet at website www.crosbylodge.com.

4. By calling the Lodge at (775) 476-0400.

Or you can also sign up at the following locations:

Sportsman's Warehouse at 3306 Kietzke in Reno.

Mark-Fore & Strike at 490 Kietzke lane in Reno

The Gilly Sporting Goods Store at 1111 N. Rock Blvd. in Sparks.

There will be cash and prizes for the 20 largest fish (In case of ties, the tie breaker is the first fish entered).

First prize is $4,000.

There will be a total of $15,000 awarded in both cash and prizes.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the derby.

You must be present to win a prize.

This will be the second year that there will be a Fisherman's Reel of Fortune to spin for the door prizes.

Dinner will be provided on Saturday Feb. 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for all registered entrants.

There will be a charge of $8 for that dinner for all non-derby registrants.

All rules and regulations of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe apply.

It is your responsibility to know and follow those rules (slot limits, special regulations, fishing licenses, boat permits, camping permits, etc.)

The final weigh-in will be on Sunday Feb. 17 (6 p.m. sharp) at Crosby Lodge.

Hours of operation at the lodge for the derby weekends will begin at 5:30 a.m. each day.

The deadline for registering is:

Saturday, Feb. 9 at noon.

Saturday, Feb. 16 at noon.
