Longtime Carson City and Dayton resident, Shirley J. Sly died peacefully Feb. 20, 2008 at her daughter's home in Chandler, Ariz. after a long illness.

Shirley moved to Carson City in 1969 from Alameda, Calif. and it practically took a stick of dynamite to get her to leave Nevada last November, as her health deteriorated, to be closer to her daughter.

Retiring just last September as Health Claims Manager for Pinnacle Entertainment, she enjoyed her work and her "team" and their love and support will always be appreciated. Shirley also worked at DMV and was office manager for Evan Allred, DDS for many years.

She is survived by son, Robb Ratto of Hayward, Calif., daughters Lorree Ratto of Chandler Ariz. and Julie Hydro of Yelm, Wash. The loves of her life, grandchildren, Brittney and April Ratto, Angela Dean Ratto, and Amanda, David and Reagan Hydro.

Special thanks to Mike Knapp for his compassion and caretaking. Internment at the Punch Bowl in Oahu, Hawaii with arrangements handled by Samaritan Funeral Home, Phoenix, Ariz.

Aloha Mom.
