Award ceremony for water district is Wednesday


The Carson Water Subconservancy District will meet 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 1214 of the Nevada State Legislative Building, 401 S. Carson St. The 2008 Andy Aldax Carson River Watershed Award for exemplary service in conservation and protection of the Carson River Watershed will be presented to Dan Kaffer. Call 887-7450.




AT&T Pioneers meet today for lunch


The Carson AT&T Pioneers Lunch meeting will be 1:30-3 p.m. today at the Beijing Palace (behind Save Mart on South Carson Street). The public is invited. The Pioneers are a community service-based organization which supplies Hug A Bears at disaster sites and ambulances and makes neck pillows free of charge to people in need at local hospital and doctor offices. Taco sale Wednesday to support powwow

Women's group focuses on civic issues at meeting

'Nunsense" stages at SLT's St. Teresa's


St. Theresa's Church of South Lake Tahoe presents "Nunsense," a musical comedy written by Dan Goggin. "Nunsense" is an international hit with more than 5,000 productions worldwide. The cast includes Sue Davis as Sister Mary Regina, Anita Jones as Sister Mary Hubert, Joanie San Agustin as Sister Mary Leo, Stephanie Grigsby as Sister Mary Amnesia, Shannon Dolan as Sister Robert Ann.


The show is in St. Theresa's Parish Hall, 1041 Lyons Ave., in South Lake Tahoe. Show times are: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are at the door the night of the event or in advance by calling (530) 544-8913. Prices are $15 for adults, $12 in advance; $10 for seniors, $8 in advance; and $8 for students, $5 in advance.
