The Carson City Fire Department is working a fire in northeast Carson City on Star Way. Emergency vehicles will be in the area for some time. Please avoid the area if possible; traffic will be controlled.
Some surrounding homes are being evacuated.
Fire units from Doulgas and Lyon counties are on standby at the county line.
