Senior men's golf sign-ups being taken

Applications are now available for the Empire Ranch Senior Men's Golf Club 2008 season.

The club, open to anyone at least 60 years of age, opens its season on March 12 and continue with tournaments every Wednesday morning through Oct. 29. The schedule includes 26 tournaments at Empire Ranch Golf Course in Carson City and nine at other local area golf courses.

Various tournament formats are offered, such as individual stroke play, scrambles, Stableford, better ball, best ball play, and the club championship. All tournaments are shotgun starts.

Applications are available at the Empire Ranch Golf Course pro shop. The membership fee is $40, includes Northern Nevada Golf Association membership for 2008. A current handicap is not necessary.
