A 19-year-old Sparks man was jailed last week after he allegedly handcuffed and threatened a female co-worker in Storey County.

David A. Cross was booked into the Storey County Jail on suspicion of gross misdemeanor false imprisonment and misdemeanor coercion.

According to Sheriff's Sgt. Ken Quirk, the 23-year-old woman reported to police that she and Cross were sitting in Cross' car on a break from their jobs in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, when Cross handcuffed her and "made threatening statements."

"After several terrifying moments, Cross released the victim from the handcuffs and allowed her to go back into the building," Quirk said in a press release.

Cross then allegedly left and the woman reported the incident to her supervisor, who then called police.

On Friday, officers contacted Cross at his job and he was subsequently arrested.

His bail was set at $3,132.
