Elyse Heberger of the Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club looks to be well on her way to advancing to the championship round at the National High School Finals Rodeo being held in Farmington, N.M.

Heberger won her go-round in breakaway roping on Tuesday night, finishing in 3.56 seconds. Her finish placed her 13th overall after all of the first go-round performances.

Heberger is scheduled to compete in her second go-round tonight. The top 20 overall finishers after the two go-rounds will advance to Saturday's championship round.

Also competing this week for the Carsn-Douglas Club is Jonathon Glocknitzer in boys cutting and Cory Hershkowitz and Cody Kiser in bareback riding. While Glocknitzer turned in a respectable effort in his first go-round, he'll be hard pressed to make the championship round.

Glocknitzer scored 204 in hs first go-round Wednesday morning and was in 38th overall. He was scheduled to compete in his second go-round on Wednesday night and needed a strong effort to have a chance to make the championship round.

Kiser also competed on Wednesday morning and had a somewhat disappointing score of 44 to finish eighth in his go-round. He was also scheduled to compete Wednesday night and needed an outstanding effort to have any shot at making the championship round. Hershkowitz is scheduled to compete in his second go-round on Friday.
