Carson sheriffs' investigators Saturday arrested a 23-year-old in connection with last week's shooting at the Stanton Arms apartment complex.

Angel M. Perez was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail on charges as an accessory to attempted murder. In addition, he faces four counts as an ex-felon in possession of firearms, each count adding $20,000 more to his bail for a total of $330,000.

Detectives said in their report they found a .380 semi-automatic pistol wrapped in a black bandanna and partially buried in Perez's backyard. That is the same caliber as shell casings found at the scene of the shooting incident.

In addition, two .22-caliber rifles and a pistol were found inside the apartment.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred after residents at Stanton Arms chased away gang members attempting to graffiti the building. Several shots were fired in that incident.

Perez was taken into custody without incident.
