Breezy conditions on tap for today's weather

Today's weather will be mostly cloudy in the morning and breezy, then clearing with highs 84-94 with southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, breezy and clear with lows 51-61 with west winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the evening becoming light.

Wednesday, sunny with haze in the morning with highs 84-94 with light winds becoming west around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing has begun on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:10 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
