"Centennial Miniseries": More like maxi. This 1978 NBC epic from the heyday of miniseries, which adapted James Michener's novel chronicling two centuries of life in what becomes a Colorado town, ran 26 hours (longer than a one-season series!). Robert Conrad kicks things off as a French trapper in the late 1700s, followed chronologically by Richard Chamberlain, Gregory Harrison, Stephanie Zimbalist, Timothy Dalton, Alex Karras, Richard Crenna, Mark Harmon, Dennis Weaver, Lynn Redgrave, David Janssen, Robert Vaughn, Andy Griffith and Sharon Gless. Michener introduces it all with lofty talk about being "the guardians of the Earth." They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Extras: The 18-minute retrospective on disc 2 has reminiscences from Conrad, plus castmates William Atherton, Barbara Carrera.

List price: $60 for six discs in hard box; out this week from Universal.

"Witchblade Series": Yancy Butler stars in TNT's 2001 comic-book action series as a New York homicide detective gifted with (and vexed by) a "morphing weapon."

Extras: Short featurettes survey making-of, casting auditions. And, uh-oh, "all new soundtrack selected by the executive producer." (Don't count on all those U2/Peter Gabriel/Rob Zombie/Blue Oyster Cult originals.)

List price: $70 for 24 episodes on seven discs in plastic box; Warner.

Also out: "Las Vegas." Fifth/final season of the NBC series adds Tom Selleck, effects featurette, gag reel; Universal, $60.

"Robin of Sherwood: The Complete Collection." All 26 episodes of the '80s British fave with Michael Praed, Jason Connery, Ray Winstone, plus generous extras; Acorn, $100.
