A Carson City man was jailed Wednesday for allegedly having a 7-year-old girl touch his genitals.
William Chaffee Greene, 70, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony lewdness with a child under 14.
According to Sheriff's Detective Craig Lowe, a 7-year-old friend of the victim told the victim's mother what the girl told him. When the mother asked her daughter, the girl allegedly said that Greene, a neighbor in the complex where the child lives, had asked her to touch his penis.
The mother called police and on Tuesday, officers contacted Greene at his Saliman Road apartment.
Lowe said that on Wednesday when Greene came in for an interview he allegedly admitted that in May he had the girl on his porch when he asked her to show him her genitals and then had her touch his.
Greene then sent the child home with some candy, said Lowe.
Greene is being held on $30,000 bail.
