Motorcyclist killed in Washoe Valley

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist was killed when he crashed into a pickup in Washoe Valley.

Authorities say the motorcyclist was heading south on U.S. 395 when the driver of a Dodge pickup truck apparently didn't see him and pulled out in front of him to make a left turn from the Bowers Mansion exit.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say he wasn't wearing an approved helmet.

Neither the driver of the pickup nor her passenger were injured.

Names of those involved were not immediately released.
