Windy weather ahead; road work continues in Carson City

Today's weather will be partly cloudy in the morning and windy, becoming mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the afternoon with highs 55-65 and southwest winds 10-15 mph incrasing to 20-30 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 40 mph.

Tonight, windy and mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 24-34 with southwest winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph; snow level 5500 feet.

Areas of road and utility work continue on Carson City streets, most notably on Fairview Drive from Silver Sage to South Edmonds, and on Highway 50 East from Saliman Road to Airport Road.

Highway 50 East roadwork is primarily from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Expect delays in both areas; please drive carefully.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 7:56 a.m. all roads in Northern Nevada open with no controls.
