Edward "Ed" Ellis Martin, 64 passed peacefully on March 21, 2008 in his home under Barton Hospice comfort care.

Ed was born on December 6, 1943 in Martinez, Calif. to Walter "Bud" and Geraldine (Augustino) Martin. Ed was raised in Martinez and graduated from Alhambra High School. After high school he began what came to be a successful career with Shell Oil Company in Martinez of 35 years. His last position was Operations Supervisor.

He married Bonnie P. Martin in 1991 and at his death they had been together 16 years. They moved to Minden from Vallejo, Calif. in 2001.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are wife, Bonnie Martin, son, Scott Martin (wife Laurie) grandchildren Connor, Cameron, Travis, Jeremy, Briana, and Mikayla; three step-children, Kelly Skinner (husband Rick), Brook Hawkins (wife Samantha), and Laura Hawkins; six step-grandchildren, Trey, Elizabeth, Katherine, Hannah, Rebekah, and Sarah; brother, Mel Martin; daughter, Lauri Evans, aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ed was the kind of person who only had positive things to share about everyone. His vivacious disposition and magnetic personality made him many friends. He was loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed. His passing will leave an empty place in all whose lives he touched.

Celebrations of life will be held at his home at 2936 La Cresta Circle, Minden, March 29 at 1 p.m. and his son's home located at 2434 Venice Ct., Discovery Bay, Calif., April 6, at 11:30 a.m.
