It's going to start to feel like summer.
The National Weather Service's Reno office is predicting record-high temperatures this weekend, which could be as much as 20 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Carson City is expected to reach as high as 90 degrees today, with highs in the low 90s persisting through Monday, the National Weather Service predicts. Forecasts are calling for a possible record high of 93 on Sunday, which would beat the previous record of 90 degrees. Temperatures in Virginia City are expected to top 80 degrees today, warming to as high as 86 on Monday. For a complete forecast see page A15.
Boaters and swimmers expecting to hit Lake Tahoe should also expect record-breaking temperatures on Sunday.
