Wet weather forecast for holiday weekend

Today's weather will have showers in the morning with scattered showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon; snow level 6000 rising to 7000 feet. Highs 53-63 with north winds up to 10 mph in the morning becoming light.

Tonight, a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening then scattered showers after midnight. Lows 35-45 with southwest winds around 10 mph.

Saturday, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon; highs 53-63 with southwest winds 10-15 mph.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs 54-64 with light winds.

Memorial Day, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs 59-69, lows 40-50.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:17 a.m. reports all routes open in Northern Nevada with no controls.
