142 marijuana plants found in Fernley

Lyon County Sheriff's officers discovered a household full of marijuana with a potential street value of over $100,000 late Wednesday, but two of the suspects were not there.

Lt. Bob Sherlock of the Lyon County Sheriffs Narcotics Division said Friday detectives and deputies served a search warrant at 525 Garden Circle in Fernley late Wednesday. Officers, who had been investigating the sale and cultivation of marijuana at the residence for one week, discovered an excessive number of marijuana plants and grow materials once inside the home.

Sherlock said they are looking for two suspects, one a 24-year-old white male and another a white female. The male has been identified as Lance Edward Oueilhe, whose last known address was in Sparks. He had rented the home in July under a different name.

The second suspect has not been positively identified. They are being sought for suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, maintaining a residences for the purpose or sale of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana over one ounce and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Bail has been set at $28,000 for each.

Sherlock said 142 live marijuana plants were found in three bedrooms, while growing equipment was located throughout the house and in the garage. Extensive high-watt grow lights were found in each bedroom. Officers recovered 32 pounds of marijuana. They also found grow lights, fans, electronic ballast power boosters and related grow equipment valued between $10,000 to $12,000.

Sherlock said many plants were 6- to 10-inches tall, while others ranged in height to 3 feet 6 inches. He said no beds or related furniture was found in any of the bedrooms.

"The rooms were empty except for plastic sheets on the floor and covering the windows," he said.

However, Sherlock said the living room had a big-screen television and couch. The refrigerator contained some food.

The outward appearance of the house, however, looked normal.

"The yard was well kept, and there was nothing to arouse suspicion," he said.
