Karen Strecker and William Derby of Carson City recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Karen and William were married Sept. 20, 1958 at First Presbyterian Church in Carson City.
The couple met at Sacramento State College where Bill received his engineering degree. They have two children; William Derby and Kathy Cranston, and four grandchildren.
Bill retired from the Nevada Department of Transportation; Karen retired from professional office management in the medical field.
They had a joint celebration of their 50th anniversary with Karen's parents Herman and Jean Strecker who celebrated their 70th anniversary. Friends and family came from all parts of the country for the anniversary celebrations.
