"Major Link" continues in the Carson Valley Inn's Cabaret Lounge through Sept. 7; the "Red Hot Smokin' Aces" appear Sept. 9 - 14; "Radio Rage" returns Sept. 16 - 21; and Monday Night Football takes over the Inn's Cabaret Lounge every Monday. Cabaret Lounge live entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows starting at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 p.m.

Western Nevada College's Latino Club is hosting a fund-raising event Friday, Sept. 19 that brings students and the community together in an evening of performance. The WNC Talent Show and Dance Contest begins at 6 p.m. in Sarah Winnemucca Hall on the Carson City Campus.

Signups and auditions are Monday, Sept. 8 beginning at 5:30 p.m., in Marlette Hall, Cedar Building. Both students and community members are welcome.

Talent show auditioners will be allowed two minutes each to preview their act.

Contestants for the dance contest will need to sign up and pay a $20 entry fee per couple, which will help offset cash prizes to top dancers. They will also be asked to choose a category of music for their dance. Choices will include reggaeton/hip-hop, salsa/merengue, or cumbia/duranguense.

Admission cost is $3 for adults, $2 for children, and $1 for WNC students with ID card. Refreshments will be available.

The Reno Little Theater presents "Moon Over Buffalo" Sept. 26, 27; Oct. 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 28, Oct. 5 and 12 at 2 p.m.

This farce by Ken Ludwig about the quirks of actors and theater life will be directed by Doug A. Mishler and performed at the Theater at Hug High School, 2880 N. Sutro at McCarran.

Songwriter,vocalist and multi-instrumentalist JJ Grey's songs are fascinating, beautiful, and complex. He brings them to the Crystal Bay Casino Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 on the day of the show.
