Christopher Lawrence Smith, 57, passed away July 2, 2008 at Carson Valley Medical Center. Chris was born to Merrill Smith and Janice Blume Smith in Sacramento, Calif. October 12, 1950. In 1955 his family moved to South Lake Tahoe where he attended school and lived most of his life.
Chris was an avid reader, a history buff, loved his children, and the outdoors. He was a woodcutter by trade and spent most of his time in the forest.
Chris is survived by father Merrill Smith; daughters Marty, Sarah, Amy, and Christy Smith; son Forrest Smith; brothers Tom, Dennis, Mark, Rick and Matthew Smith; sister Sharon Inman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Janice Smith in 1998.
A celebration of life will be 4 p.m., Saturday at Blue Lakes, Calif. at the Upper Blue Lakes-Middle Campground.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels in Douglas County Senior Center.
