Deadline for Nevada Day parade entries near


Nevada Day, Inc. would like to announce the deadline for parade entries this year is fast approaching. Republican Committee hosts info desk at Salsa y Salsa


The Carson Republican Central Committee will host an information desk, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13-Sunday, Sept. 14 at Third and Curry Streets during the Salsa y Salsa Festival. Registration for voting in the Nov. 4 general election will be available. For information, call 841-1800.

"Faces, Voices, and Stories" presented at WNC


Western Nevada College presents "Faces, Voices and Stories", an annual series of free lectures, films and events bringing the world and issues into focus. "Rock Bottom Success," kicks off the series, 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25 at Marlette Hall, Cedar Building. Hear the story of Kevin Hines, a popular student and athlete who struggled with bipolar disorder.




Flu Vaccination Clinic at Carson Plaza Retirement Community


Carson Plaza Retirement Community, in conjunction with Maxim Health Systems, will conduct a Flu Vaccination Clinic 2-4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2120 E. Long Street. Cost per flu shot is $30; cost per pneumonia shot is $45. The clinic is open to any legally consenting adult. Medicare Part B and some insurance policies may cover part of these costs; those intending to attend the clinic are encouraged to contact their insurance carriers for details.
