Several road projects continue; today's weather outlook

Today's weather will be mostly sunny with highs 75-85 with light winds becoming north up to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, clear with lows 43-53 with north winds up to 10 mph.

Thursday, sunny with highs 76-86 with light winds becoming northeast up to 10 mph.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations. Work includes paving, miscellaneous construction, speed limits, flaggers and possible delays. Work is scheduled to be completed Sept. 16.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is still in effect. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

Road work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. along Highway 395 through Carson City has begun and includes paving, miscellaneous construction, speed limits, flaggers and possible delays. Work is scheduled to be completed Sept. 16.

Road work continues on Hot Springs Road from Northridge to Roop Street. Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:31 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
