Carmen Nelson passed away among friends Tuesday September 16, 2008.

Carmen was born October 14, 1914 in rural Alabama to Leon and Alma Snuggs as the eldest daughter of ten children.

Carmen was always a Southern girl and always had the perfect southern saying for anything. She married Ed Nelson in the early forties and moved to Oakland, Calif. During this same time Carmen became a Jehovah's Witness and remained a faithful Witness until her death. Carmen had a knack for cooking and loved good, home-cooked food. Carmen was also an accomplished gardener and until her death had a beautiful garden growing. Carmen was always a joyful and happy person and was constantly entertaining her friends with her wit and humor. Carmen also found joy in her hope of a resurrection and renewal to a paradise earth which she learned about in the Bible (Psalms 37:11).

Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1:30 p.m., Saturday in Carson City.

Autumn Funerals and Cremations is caring for the arrangements.
