Barbara A. Storke, 67, passed away April 2, 2009 at Carson-Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City. Barbara was born July 24, 1941 in Bamburg, Germany to Hans and Freida Helmschrott.
She married Robert H. Storke in 1968 in Bamburg, Germany. Following their wedding, they moved to the Carson Valley, living here forty years. They moved to Yerington in 2006. While living in Carson Valley, Barbara taught pre-school at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville for 13 years. She enjoyed knitting and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Barbara's parents preceded her in death.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Robert and her daughter and son-in-law Bobbi Storke and Jeff Holcomb of Minden; son Michael Storke of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Lucas, Tyler and Ellie; brother, Heimrich Helmschrott of Germany and sister, Eva Oerleking of Minden.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville, NV. Burial will follow at the Garden cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara's honor to the Trinity Lutheran Preschool.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary has been entrusted with her final arrangements.
