May is National Bike Month. Local bicycle enthusiasts are organizing events to celebrate throughout the month, with Bike to Work Week beginning May 11 and culminating on May 15 with Bike to Work Day.

Muscle Powered, a walking and biking advocacy group, is coordinating the event with support from the city and the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Area bike shops will be planning events at their own businesses and volunteers from throughout the community are also working on the project.
