Carson company lands defense contract

Phoenix International Ventures, an aerospace contractor in Carson City, says the Defense Department has confirmed a $2.4 million contract to remanufacture aircraft support equipment. Phoenix says it has a backlog of $7.4 million in orders.

Legal course May 1

A one-day legal seminar conducted by the Nevada chapter of the National Association of Legal Secretaries will be on Friday at the Gold Dust West. The class is designed to give all legal support staff a "survivor course" on working with the Nevada Supreme Court, discovery rules, law office ethics, liens, probate court updates, and improving your grammar skills.

A spring fashion show will be the main event for the Young Business Professionals monthly networking event on Tuesday at Dopplegangers.

Mechanic's Lien Law Seminar

The Builders Association of Western Nevada will present a seminar to educate members on mechanic's lien laws on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The two-hour seminar will take place at Pro Group Management Office located in Carson City, which will be video conferenced to the Las Vegas Pro Group Management Office. BAWN hosts lien seminar

The Builder's Association of Western Nevada will present a seminar on mechanics liens featuring attorney Jerry M. Snyder from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 30 at the Pro Group Management conference room, 575 S. Saliman Road.

Snyder will discuss current lien forms, pre-liens and which lien to file first, how to perfect your lien and who to call for help.

The cost is $20 per person and includes refreshments.
