Sub-zero temps expected tonight, warmer by Friday

After a snow storm dumped more more than a foot of snow in the Carson City region on Monday, today's weather will be sunny, but cold.

The high for Tuesday will be near 27 with a West wind of about 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight temperatures are expected to drop to about 2 below zero.

Wednesday's high is expected to be 28 with a low of 14.

The mercury will continue to rise throughout the week, with a high near 40 and low of about 30 on Friday, the weather service reported Tuesday.

On Thursday there will be a 40 percent chance of snow.
