Only papers found in stray briefcase after DMV evacuation

UPDATE: The bomb squad X-rayed the briefcase and found no explosives. They opened it and found only papers.

UPDATE: The Carson City Department of Motor Vehicles office, 555 Wright Way, has been evacuated after an unattended briefcase was found at 2:55 p.m. Thursday on a chair in the lobby. The Douglas County bomb squad is on scene and will be entering the building in minutes.

Three hundred employees and 100 customers were evacuated from the DMV and Department of Public Safety, headquarters to the Nevada Highway Patrol offices.

Carson City Sheriff's Office, Nevada Highway Patrol and Capitol police are on scene.
