Carson City Little League's 9-10 all-star team remained unscathed in pool play with another easy win Tuesday night at Governors Field.

Tez Allen and Jayden DeJoseph drove in three runs apiece, and Zach Simms threw 3.2 innings of two-hit ball to lead Carson to an easy 14-0 win over Reno National in the District 1 tournament.

The game was stopped after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule. Carson has won all three of its games via the 10-run rule.

The win gives Carson a 3-0 record heading into its final game in pool play at 5 p.m. today against Reno American East. Earlier in the tournament, Carson blanked Sparks Centennial 13-0 and beat South Tahoe 20-3.

This win followed the pattern of the first two in the sense that it took a few innings for Carson's offense to get untracked. Once it did, it was lights out for the opposition.

"Every game has been that way it seems," said manager Mike Fettic. "Once we get the ball rolling, we're off and running.

"Our pitching was pretty good. Zach did a heck of a job pitching. Tez came in to finish and threw only 18 pitches which was even better."

Carson took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, using an error, a walk, a single by Simms and a fielder's choice.

Carson went out meekly in the second and Simms struck out the side after the first two hitters reached base.

Carson, however, missed an opportunity to get the offense going in third.

With one out, DeJoseph singled and moved to second on an error. Simms walked to load the bases. Kyle Krebs and Allen forced runners to end the inning.

Simms was in trouble again in the third, but struck out Matthew Smith with the bases loaded to preserve the two-run cushion.

Carson finally got on track in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring six runs in each.

In the fourth, Allen and DeJoseph had two RBIs apiece to key the first six-run barrage. In the fifth, Allen, DeJoseph, and Krebs all had run-scoring hits. Reno also made three errors in the inning, all three leading to scores.

DeJoseph collected three hits, while Simms, Krebs and Allen added two each. Bryce Moyle, Jace Keema and Jesse Lopez added one each.

DeJoseph, Keema and Moyle led Carson's 19-hit attack with three hits apiece. Keema drove in six runs, three coming on a homer in the sixth that highlighted a nine-run inning. DeJoseph drove in five runs, while Moyle and Allen drove in two apiece. Lopez, Krebs and Fettic all drove in a run. Lopez and Dawson Fettic had two hits each.
