LAS VEGAS - Authorities say they have dismissed all charges against a man whose truck was hit last month by a Las Vegas police officer speeding in his patrol car.
A police statement released Friday says investigators believe 45-year-old Calvin Darling was not at fault in the crash that killed Officer James Manor.
Manor was found to be driving 109 mph on a city street before hitting Darling's pickup truck. He had not activated his lights or siren.
Sheriff Douglas Gillespie says Manor's speed "was both unsafe and unreasonable" and caused the May 7 crash.
Police initially arrested Darling on suspicion of driving under the influence and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Darling was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Monday.
