Kubel recognized as an Eagle Scout

Michael Kubel, 17, son of Dr. and Mrs. Steven R. Kubel, has successfully completed his Eagle Scout. Only 3 percent of boys ever make it to Eagle Scout. Michael's grandfather Howard L. Kubel was also an Eagle Scout.

The ceremony was held at Carson Valley Christian Church.

Master of Ceremony was conducted by Bill Knight, with benediction being presented by CVC Youth Pastor, Jeremy Malekos. The guest speaker was Bill Murphy. Gene Brockman, who became a Eagle Scout in 1944, also attended the ceremony.

In addition to achieving Eagle Scout, Michael Kubel was the valedictorian for Sierra Lutheran High School for the graduating class of 2009.
