Rummage sale volunteers needed

Donations and volunteers are being sought for the really big rummage sale hosted by the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, Saturday, June 13. All proceeds benefit the Children's Museum. Clothing not accepted for donation. For information, call 884-2226.

Capital City Band concert coming

The Capital City Community Band will continue celebrating its 30th anniversary 3 p.m., Sunday, May 17 with an Old Fashioned Band Concert in the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Musser and Division Streets. The free concert is open to the public. For information, call 883-2219.

Golf clinic offered at Empire Ranch

The Fred and Judy Alexander Foundation and the Northern California PGA Section Sierra Nevada Chapter host the annual Fred Alexander Memorial Family Golf Clinic, 10:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, May 17 at Empire Ranch Golf Course. The free clinic is open to juniors ages 6-17 and their parents. All participants will receive lunch, T-shirts, backpacks and a golf club. Registration deadline is 4 p.m., Saturday, May 16. Historical society presents garden tour

The Carson CIty Historical Society presents "Through the Garden Gate" Home/-Garden Tour, noon-5 p.m., Sunday, May 31. There are two new locations this year " the Crisler House featuring the garden only and Judge Gregory's home featuring home and garden. Tickets for the tour are $12 for adults; $10 for seniors and students; $6 for children 6-12; children five and younger are free. Tickets are available 11 a.m. on the day of the tour at the Greenhouse Garden Center, 2450 S. Curry St., Roberts House Museum, 1207 N. Carson St.; the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau, 1900 S. Carson St.; and the White Cat Antiques, 512 N. Curry St. For information, call 841-1975.

Sign up for charity golf tournament

The Carson Sertoma Club's annual charity golf tournament to raise funds for children with speech, cancer, and diabetes problems will be 9 a.m., Sunday, June 28 at the Eagle Valley East golf course. Entry fee of $100 includes golf, cart, lunch, raffle tickets, entry in closest to hole and long drive contests, and door prize entry.
